I’ve been hearing about vision boards for quite a while now and thought it would be fun to create one and share it with you. Although vision boards can appear to be a silly concept to some, I’ve found it beneficial to sit and reflect on what my goals are and document them for daily reference. Keep reading for some reasons why you should create a vision board + for details on what’s on mine for 2020!
A vision board is a powerful tool that displays what you want in your life. It’s a physical representation of goals and dreams that you’re aiming to achieve. The board serves as a visual depiction of what you want to do and where you want to be, allowing you to frame each day with those things in mind to stay inspired and motivated. If you believe in manifesting, by placing images, pictures, inspirational words/quotes as if they’re already yours is a good way to bring them to fruition.
At the beginning of the year, it’s common to jot down goals but I think we’re all a bit guilty of not referring back to them as the year goes by. I usually write about my goals in a blog post or jot them in my notes app and never look at them until the year ends. I opted to do a digital vision board on Picmonkey. because it’s more eco-friendly and I love digital everything. They have templates, stickers, fonts, art and you can even search or upload any photo of your choice!
What’s on my Vision Board
We’ve been planning our wedding. I’m so excited for a magical day filled with love, family and friends. I still have so much to do and fine details to take care of. I am generally such a picky person with everything that I’m like “Mom or Randy, ya’ll just pick for me!!!” Randy is my fiancé in case you didn’t know. This July coming, we will be together for a decade! Yup, 10 whole crazy years!
I have to admit that I am not the healthiest. Growing up in a Caribbean household, everything is about taste and spices so thinking of healthy foods makes me ponder about it being bland and I cringe, so it’s a challenge! I have done the research and know that you can still make healthy and appetizing foods. My fiancé and I have been using a food subscription box called Freshly. I usually have this for lunch and have a club at work where a few colleagues and I sit together at lunch to eat our Freshly meals and chat! I want to think of food as fuel and actually fill my body with things that will give me energy, and to help me be my best self every day.
I always have travel bug up my tail! I want to go EVERYWHERE! With our wedding coming up in June, I’ve been thinking of the perfect honeymoon destinations. I’ve been wanting to go to Italy and Greece for the longest and I want to make that happen unless we agree on another place. I’m not a person to sit by the beach all day long because that’s boring (IMO!). I enjoy going on crazy adventures! I wasn’t always this way, I’m glad I’ve gotten out of that funk to be more brave and daring. (Thanks to my fiancé dragging me all over the place when I never wanted to go anywhere!)
Blogging + Creativity
I always want to make new content and share things that are meaningful to me and that will potentially benefit someone else. My goals are to be a bit more daring and try out a different niche, like fashion! I’ve always been a bit lazy to put together different looks. I always cared more about quality and comfort. But, you can have quality, comfort and still be stylish. I feel that when you dress better, you feel better. I want to continue utilizing my blog as a form of self-expression to document my life, things I enjoy, while also trying new things. Most importantly, I want to continue tapping into my creative side, have fun and feel connected. I’ve connected with so many different bloggers and it’s been so inspiring. People are so supportive! It’s such a happy place for me and feels like a little home.
Right now, we are in the midst of remodeling our attic. Last year, we remodeled a whole floor of our home. With everything being brand new – I became obsessed with home décor and Pinterest! We’d like to have an office space, another bedroom area, extra storage for my millions of stuff and extra space with bean bags to have Zen moments with friends! I love our renovation journey – it came with lots of ups and downs but it’s worth it. I believe in making your home everything so you won’t really feel the need to leave.
